Alright folks, let's keep it short & sweet. Top 7 things to do in Freetown for the month of May 2019...and as usual in no particular order are as follows:

1. Glow Eve: An Open Mic & Fundraising Event 🌟

Glow Eve is powered by Glowing Embers Network; a 21st Century assignment with the vision of mentoring, inspiring and encouraging girls and women to grow up and into passionate beings fueled with self-confidence. They strive to actualize the global dream of increased women in leadership, by promoting self-realization, skills-acquisition, self-development and provide safe platforms where girls and women can radiate their innate potentials. GEN tirelessly focus on advocating against negative social constructs and structures against women and create awareness on the relevance of mental health in the contemporary empowerment drive.


At this event there will be open mic available for audience members to recite an original piece. It is also an award's night wherein the top 3 winner's of their on going essay competition will be announced.

2. TAC 101 - Freetown Business School 📈

Freetown Business School in collaboration with Veritas Chartered Accountants and PwC Ghana shall re-deliver TAC101 – Fundamentals of the Sierra Leone Tax System.

TAC101 will run from May 8 - June 1 2019 on Wednesdays & Fridays (6:00-8:00pm) and Saturdays (12:00-2:00pm) at the Africell American Corner, 25 Bathurst Street, Freetown.

Trainees are expected to attend all classes to be eligible to receive a certificate. Discounts are offered to women (5%) and additional discounts for groups 10+ and a 10% discount fo entrepreneurs.

3. Freetown Pitch Night 🗣

Freetown Pitch Night is back with its third edition of the year! This month's theme is Water & Sanitation which fulfills one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Pitch night is a night which provides budding entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone the opportunity to post their post revenue business. Four lucky entrepreneurs will get to pitch their business model or existing business to a panel of judges.

4. The International Jazz Evening 🎷

The annual International Jazz Evening is organized by Ballanta Academy; one of the leading music academies in Sierra Leone. The evening will feature Sierra International Singers, Groovy Colors, The Kidzone Academy and more.

5. Yoga & Jogging 🧘🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

This event is organized by Stress Free Salone; a group which aims at helping people to make rapid progress from stressful situations. They give people the necessary tools needed to live a happy life. #HealthIsWealth

6. Games Night 🎲
