Happy Women's Month!

and if you're not a woman -- happy new month!

Ramadan Mubarak! 🤭

I'm not sure of the statute of limitations for my last wish, but hey -- you haven't heard it from me so leh e lef so.

And to my Christian cousins - wishing you all a blessed Lent!

There are so many overlapping holidays, religious observations and commemorative days in this March! March is a busy gal. And a month full of load shedding...but I won't open that can of worms 🤭

What will you be getting up to this month?

I have a little list to help with that...

Here are 7 things you can do in Freetown this month and ways you can support women this month 😇:

1. Trivia Tuesdays with Inkundla Spaces ❓

Do you like trivia? I sure do - just ask around 🤭

Every month Inkundla Spaces hosts Trivia Tuesdays at Mango Peak!

If you're feeling lucky and just so happen to know useful and some not-so-useful facts, join the trivia fun tonight at:

Date: Tuesday, March 11 2025 (tonight)

Venue: Mango Peak, opposite St. Mary's Supermarket, Hillstation

Time: 7:30pm (Triva starts)

Have fun and make some friends!

2.) Iftar Party 🥘

One thing Ramadan does is bring people together, and what better way to do community than with food?

Organize an Iftar party or attend Iftar!

There are a few women-led and co-woman led businesses organizing iftar events or packages this Ramadan that you can check with:

Nawal's Kitchen: They are co-owned by a mother and two daugthers who make homemade Lebanese, contintental and Sierra Leonean dishes. Their Iftar packages include soup, salad, dessert, main dish and a drink for nLe 350. To order yours: +232 88 242 424

The Kona: Co-owned by a couple are hosting an Iftar Dinner on Friday, March 28 2025 at 7:00pm. It is buffet style for nLe 600. To RSVP: +232 30 103 333

3. Nina's Coffee new location ☕

Any coffee lovers in the house?

Even if you're not a coffee lover, Nina's Coffee cafés across the city will appeal to beverage, dessert and sandwich lovers alike.

In late 2024, Nina's Coffee expanded to the Lumley/Juba area! If you're looking for a pick me up to help with staying up to for Taraweeh prayers or need a dose of caffeine to help ginger you for another night of darkness -- check out Nina's Coffee at Lumley:

Location: at the Leonco Oil petrol station before the Juba bridge on your right coming from Lumley.

...for the love of coffee!

4. Sweet P's Bakery 🧁

Calling all those with a sweet tooth...

If you're looking for freshly baked goods that a rich and decadent then you should definitely indulge with Sweet P's Bakery.

To cupcakes, butterscotch cookies, banana bread -- you name it they have it, and if they don't they can definitely make it. The pictures would make you drool and I am cognizant some reading may be fasting so I'll spare you the pictures hehe.

6. Time for self-care 🌸

When last did you do self-care? 🤔

If you have to think about it then it's been too long. What are you waiting for? Better hop to it - you know I do NOT play about my self-care. Just last week I got a 90 minutes Swedish massage at the spa 💆🏾‍♀️. Although nobody's son stepped in and paid - it is WELL. There is God.

So...when last did you do self-care? With The Republic moving mad once again, make sure you find some time to do something just for YOU - whether it's reading a book, going out for a meal, having a beach day or making a cheeky purchase - whatever it is, do it for yourself. 💜
