1. Poems from the Streets 🏛️
WAYout Poetry Group presents "Street Rhymes".
WAYout is a charity in Sierra Leone that supports displaced and disadvantages youth across the country though music, film, design, education and art.

2. Speak Up 🎙️
Ever heard the expression "closed mouths don't get fed"? Guess it's true, because this group of talented artists are hosting a poetry session called Speak Up.
Featuring folk singer and activist Fantacee Wiz, the night promises thoughtful pieces. Check them out on:

3. Art Exhibition by Réunion 🎨
It appears that the art scene is dominating this April, and I am here for it! #ArtsyApril?
This month, art group Réunion presents their Art Exhibition theme "15 ships to Sierra Leone. Autism in Sierra Leone" . The theme will focus on stimulating public awareness and understanding on Autism while paying tribute to the Black Loyalists who sailed to Sierra Leone in 1792 marking 230 years since their arrival.
The exhibition is open to the public (free of cost) on the following days and times:

4. Fear-town by The Barray 👹
The Barray is back!
The Barray is a pop up exhibition that showcases 2-3 times a year in Freetown.
This year's theme is FEAR-TOWN.
Like every Barray Exhibition you will NOT be disappointed, trust me.

5. The Cake Exhibition 🍰
From art to cake exhibition, ol kine exhibition dae Fritong dis mont! (Krio: there are different exhibitions this month in Freetown!)

Ever been to a cake tasting? Go eat fo yu ya! (Krio: go get you some!)

6. Easter Egg Hunt 🐰
With Easter around the corner of course there will be an Easter egg hunt near by!
This Easter Egg Hunt by IPC Travel offers arts & crafts, face painting, the obvious egg hunt and more.
For those of us that are forever children at heart, I wonder if I could participate. There is no age stated on the flyer and I am indeed a child...I am someone's child and a child of God 🌚

7. Land That We Love 🇸🇱
April 27 will mark 61 years Sierra Leone has been independent from British colonial rule. Around this time always brings up mix feelings for me and I'm sure others as well. Irrespective of how you feel (which is totally valid) another Independence Day is around the corner whether you like it or not. For some that might entail reading up on Sierra Leonean history, going to the beach or cry bele-ing (Krio: complaining) about the state of affairs - it's another day we will see the country decked in our national colors green, white and blue and another day of reflection one way or the other.
