Finally, the 200 days of January are over!


Yes, yes I know what you may be thinking "One week into February and she brings up Top 7?" and to that I say like God, I'm never late - I'm always on time 😉.


The shortest month of the year seems to have quite a few social activities, I wonder why that is. 🤔


Ahh, because of Lover Lover's Day aka Valentine's Day. The only the day in the human calendar where public displays of affection is socially acceptable, where it's redder than my menstrual cycle and exorbitant gifts are exchanged all caused by a mythical unsupervised flying baby called Cupid.

1. Tacugama Reopens Its Doors! 🐒

Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary reopened its doors to the public on February 1 2022! It was closed due to the increasing COVID-19 cases.


Tacugama, founded in 1995 by conservationist Bala Amarasekaran is situated in the outskirts of Freetown in a community called Regent.


It is home to over 100 chimpanzees and an eco-lodge.

Did you know that Sierra Leone's national animal is the chimpanzee as of 2019?

2. Fritong Luma

Fritong Luma is the place to be every last Saturday of the month for your made in Sierra Leone goodies. From natural cosmetics, to Ankara accessories and great drinks and snacks - you can get all that you need at Fritong Luma!

3. The Throne 🎭

For theater lovers, you would want to book your calendars for this!


On Saturday, February 12 2022 at Freetown City Council Auditorium, The Throne by Oumar Farouk Sesay debuts.


The play promises to be thought provoking by exploring themes and views in gender, sexual orientation and power in Africa.


Tickets range from Standard Le 50,000 and Patron Le 1,000,000. Doors open at 5:00pm


4. Te Amo! ❤️

Cupid makes an early appearance to Freetown at Te Amo!

5. Sponsored Walk with L.A.W.Y.E.R.S 🏃🏽‍♀️

Celebrate 25 years with a laudable organization that provides free legal advice and court representation to vulnerable woman and girls.


L.A.W.Y.E.R.S (Legal Access through Women Yearning Equality Rights and Social Justice) marks their 25th anniversary with a sponsored walk. You can join them on:

6. Try Tee's Pizza 🍕

Tees Pizza is an online bakery that prides itself on "making real food the old fashioned way; with love and dedication".

They are youth-led and endeavor to keep costs low to serve a wider population who would also like to have a slice of pizza.


Their bakery is based in Tokeh (about 1.5 hours outside of Freetown in the Western Area) and require one day pre orders.
