As a social entrepreneur, Mina is result oriented and a problem solver. She is passionate about all things digital and believes in nurturing and stimulating young minds and that no act of change is small; everyone has a part to play to change their community to make it better.

Mina Bilkis is the Founder + Director of Girl Up Vine Club Sierra Leone (Girl Up).
Girl Up was founded in 2016 after the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak. When Mina returned to Sierra Leone in 2014 from the United States, Sierra Leone was engulfed in the EVD epidemic which resulted in over 14,000 girls becoming pregnant during the 9 months closure of schools.
Girl Up Vine Club Sierra Leone operates at the Vine Memorial Secondary School for Girls (VMSSG) at Congo Cross, Freetown at the Junior Secondary School (JSS) level. The club aims to promote the health, safety, leadership and education of adolescent girls ages 11-17 in Sierra Leone through community outreach, advocacy and public speaking workshops.
Our main projects are Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)/Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR), digital rights and Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV).
In an effort to make Girl Up Vine Club Sierra Leone sustainable, Ori from Sierra Leone was created.
Ori from Sierra Leone is a social enterprise that produces unisex shea butter based products infused with essential and carrier oils to promote healthy hair and glowing skin. Proceeds generated support Girl Up Vine Club Sierra Leone.
For girls who age of out the Girl Up program and have entrepreneurial pursuits, they are trained at Ori from Sierra Leone and become part-time sale agents.

I have also worked with feminist, technology and health centered organizations in leading and facilitating discussions on inequality, social disparities and impact.
